We offer a range of support with Education, Health and Care Plans, from reviewing a draft plan through to amendments, working documents and support around placement and provision. Our packages are designed to help ensure that the plan accurately reflects your child or young person's needs and clearly sets out the provision required to meet them.

All work listed within each package is included within the total price. Any work outside of the chosen package is chargeable at our hourly rate of £45 per hour, unless otherwise agreed. 

No additional work will be completed without prior agreement and a clear quote.

Where Compass Advocacy SEND is already, or has previously been, involved with your family, relevant information gained through previous advocacy work, meetings or professional discussions may also be incorporated where appropriate. 

Education, Health and Care Plan - Draft Review and Summary Package 

This package is suitable for parents and carers who have received a draft Education, Health and Care Plan and would like an independent review and summary before responding to the Local Authority. 

This package includes:

• A focused consultation to discuss your child or young person's needs, your concerns about the draft and any areas you would like considered.
• Review of the full draft EHCP.
• Review of relevant supporting evidence, including professional reports, assessments, school information and previous plans where applicable.
• Detailed review of whether identified needs are accurately and comprehensively recorded.
• Review of whether provision is sufficiently specific, detailed and linked to identified needs. 
• Consideration of outcomes and whether they are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound (SMART).
• Review of placement information and parental preference, where you already have a school or placement in mind.
• Identification of omissions, vague wording, inconsistencies or areas where the draft does not accurately reflect the available evidence. 
• A 'Golden-Thread' check to ensure all Needs, Outcomes and Provisions are suitably linked.
• A short written summary (2-3 pages) setting out the key concerns, recommended amendments and points to raise with the Local Authority.
• Final quality check before the review and summary are returned to you. 
   

This package is designed to give you a clear overview of the strengths and weaknesses within the draft and help you understand what changes may need to be requested before the plan is finalised. 

This package does not include researching or identifying potential schools or placement where you do not already have a school in mind. If you would like support exploring suitable placement options, this can be provided as additional work and will be quoted separately before any work is undertaken. 

Package time: 5 hours

Typical Turnaround: 7-10 working days from receipt of deposit, the draft EHCP, all relevant supporting evidence and any additional evidence required.

This package is designed to give you a ready-to-submit document, with all changes and proposals clearly marked, along with notes and explanations for the proposed amendments. This can be sent directly to the Local Authority to represent your proposed amendments. 

This package does not include researching or identifying potential schools or placement where you do not already have a school in mind. If you would like support exploring suitable placement options, this can be provided as additional work and will be quoted separately before any work is undertaken.

Education, Health and Care Plan - Co-Production Meeting (Add-On)

This add-on is available for families who have purchased the Draft Amendments Package and would like Compass Advocacy SEND to attend a co-production meeting with the Local Authority to discuss the proposed changes. 

(Note: Co-Production meetings are typically held via teams. In person attendance is only available for those within our local area. In this instance we would come to you at your home address, or other suitable location. For those outside our local area, we are able to join remotely via teams)

This add-on includes:

• Preparation before the meeting, including review of the proposed amendments with you.
• Attendance at the co-production meeting.
• Advocacy during the meeting to explain and support the proposed amendments.
• Discussion of disputed wording, provision, outcomes and placement issues where relevant. 
• Clarification of the Local Authority's position on any amendments that are not agreed. 
• Brief post-meeting follow-up to review the outcome and identify any agreed next steps.

Because the proposed amendments have already been prepared within the Working Document as part of the Draft Amendments, the meeting can focus directly on discussing and resolving the outstanding points. 

This add-on does not include substantial new evidence review, school or placement research, or significant new drafting following the meeting. Any additional work required will be discussed and quoted separately before it is undertaken. 

Where you have purchased the Draft Review and Summary Package, co-production support may still be available, but additional preparation and drafting may be required and will be quoted separately.
